We’re very proud to have donated $10,000 to the Ngaruawahia Fire Brigade Emergency Response Team. The funds have gone to a great cause in helping the Ngaruawahia Fire Brigade purchase additional resources for their incident response unit which covers the Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas.
As many of you will know on Thursday 6th April, a wall of water devastated the Bay of Plenty town of Edgecoumbe after the Rangitaiki River breached a stopbank. Emergency response volunteers from Ngaruawahia and Hamilton we there to help and provide support for the communities in need. The team spent 4 days solely on catering and cooking meals for those involved from the New Zealand Fire Service and their families, New Zealand Police, New Zealand Defence Force and other agencies. It is so important at times like these that these rescue and support teams are also looked after and they have enough food and shelter to enable them to work all hours required to help those in need. At Massé we are passionate about the safety, health and wellbeing of our people which is why we choose to donate to causes that help make a difference to the wider community. We are proud to say that the Ngaruawahia Fire Brigade used our contribution towards purchasing a new canopy for shelter and an electricity generator to power their mobile cooking stations should an emergency in the future require these resources.
Thanks for getting in touch with us Ngaruawahia Fire Brigade we’re pleased to have been able to help.
